No news is good news - 34w/4d

Today's ultrasound showed that Twin A is breech and Twin B is vertex (head down). We actually got to see Twin B's profile today! He's gonna be a cutie, watch out ladies. The doctors decided that we will only do one ultrasound a week from here on out because the twins are so stable that it isn't necessary to have two a week. Fine by me. The only reason we started doing 2 a week was to ensure that the ventricle in Twin A's brain wasn't getting worse. Since the MRI showed no problems there is no reason to keep doing 2 ultrasounds a week. The next time we check growth will be a week from today on Tuesday. I can't wait to see how big they are!

Same sh*t different day here on this 49th day of inpatient, tomorrow marks 7 weeks since I walked in the door. Phew! Monitoring has been fine, the boys have been behaving for the most part. They are quickly running out of room which helps keep them in one place. The twins also LOVE to have dance parties between midnight & 2am... oy vey... this has made sleeping tricky but it also shows that the twins are developing well so I can't complain too much.

I have continued my crocheting/crafting binge. In the past week I have made 4 owls, an elephant & a large dreamcatcher. Mother's day was really nice. Greg brought Juniper out and we had a good time walking around and snuggling :) Definitely ready for more of that in my life.

My body has been having a harder time dealing with the extra weight of the twins. It is a blessing to be stuck in bed for most of the day because my back and hips can only put up with being on my feet for about 30 minutes. Thankfully the nursing staff here at the hospital are AMAZING and one of my night nurses suggested I try soaking in one of the labor tubs. BEST SUGGESTION EVER! It felt so good to get that weight off my spine and hips. I'm gonna see if I can soak again tonight.

The countdown has begun. June 2nd is our scheduled delivery date and that is 17 days away. It feels so good to know that we are only a little more than 2 weeks away from meeting these two. It's been quite the lead up.

I want to make sure that Juniper feels special when we bring the boys home. A former boss & older sister to twins suggested that I look for a gift that the twins can give Juniper. Great idea! The only tricky part was finding something that a 2 year old would love and not destroy in a matter of minutes. A couple weeks ago I found some inspiration in a video that my husband sent me. It's a video of Juniper in the front yard transferring water from a bowl to a vase one cup at a time. She was having a BLAST! My sweet little water bug. I went online and found an amazing water table that has all kinds of bells a whistles on it. Juniper is going to LOVE it and it will be a great thing for her to enjoy not only this summer but all year round.

Juniper has been doing really well without me around. Every other week we switch up who is watching her. One week my Mom has her and the next week my in-laws keep her at our house. I know that Juniper is loving all the attention she is getting and this also gives her a chance to bond with Grandma & Grandpa who live in Bend. Every time Greg takes out his phone Juniper asks if she can "talk to mommy?". We FaceTime a lot and Juniper seems content with that.

Greg brought me irises from our garden on Mother's Day. They are gorgeous but it is really hard to believe that it is iris season already. Time flies when you're being boring in a hospital, lol!

Here's to the next 17 days, here's to the end being in sight, here's to patience, gratitude & family.

With love,
Whitney
