Our most recent appointment was last Wednesday and it was the first routine appointment. 45 minute ultrasound followed by a 30 minute visit with a perinatologist. I decided to cycle through all the specialists instead of sticking with just one because I want to get to know them all (there are only 4) and then I can pick the one I like best later since I'm gonna be seeing this person every 2 weeks for the foreseeable future.
The ultrasound went great. Amniotic fluid looked great and measured within range for both twins. Bladders looked great and were functioning properly. Head to rump measurements came in just over and just under 4 inches each and it's really crazy to think that I already have 8 inches of baby in this belly of mine! Head circumferences were within range and all our genetic tests came back with no major risks. I still need to go in for my 3 hour glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes and I think I'm gonna do that tomorrow. I have to fast for 12 hours before the tests and then it takes another 3 hours on top of that... needless to say I will NOT be a happy camper come noon tomorrow but the good news is that there is a Chick-fil-A just own the street (my guilty pleasure). There is something about those nuggets and waffle fries that just does it for me, every time.
Our Christmas holiday was very busy but full of love and family. Greg's parents came out from Bend on Friday evening and brought dinner. On Saturday morning, we had breakfast and then met up with my parents & Nana to go see SING at the movie theatre. GREAT movie! Such a cute story and we are always suckers for stories that tell behind-the-scenes stories about the theatre. After the movie, we went to a local sports bar for the larges plate of nachos you have ever seen. Seriously, they bring it out on a pizza tray and it stands 8 inches high. Nachos for 12-18 people, easily. We stuffed ourselves and then headed our separate ways until we met again at the Christmas Eve service at church.
At home, Greg's parents prepped an absolutely amazing dinner. Salmon Smoked on the Traeger for hours, steaks, baked salmon, and much much more. I made a birthday cake for Greg the day before. For anyone wanting a recipe for a delicious chocolate cake with buttercream frosting follow this link! It's super easy and so tasty!

We went to the church with Mom, Dad & Nana and then everyone came over to our house for a birthday celebration dinner for Greg. Much fun was had by all and everyone left stuffed!
On Christmas we spend the entire day at my parents place with Greg's family. Mom & Dad made an amazing Southwestern style dinner with cornish game hen, chipotle cranberry sauce, scallop potatoes and many other delicious things. Dad made a wonderful cheesecake for dessert that blew everyone away :)
Greg's parents stayed at my parent's place that night while Greg's brother & girlfriend stayed at our house. The next morning we opened presents with Greg's parents at our house, then we went to a local restaurant for lunch before Greg's brother & girlfriend left that afternoon. The rest of us went back over to my parent's house for fettuchini alfredo. Greg's parents left the next day. We are spoiled to have so much of our family so close especially during the holidays.
My next doctor's appointment is next Wednesday and we will hopefully find out gender! I have been feeling a lot better the past couple weeks. The nausea and bloating has gone away and now the only major symptom I get is migraines that last a couple hours every couple days. Oh pregnancy, always a fun ride.
'til next time,
Whitney
