It's been a while, I know. But trust me it's worth it!
Our original appointment to find out gender got canceled because of these nasty snow storms that decimated Portland. Greg came with me to our rescheduled appointment. We patiently waited in the waiting room, taking last guesses on what we thought the genders would be.
It didn't take long! After a couple minutes into the ultrasound we finally found out...
The twins are.... drumroll please.... BOYS!!
Greg and I couldn't be happier! We wanted healthy babies but we were hoping for boys for a couple reasons. After having Juniper, we think it will be a wonderful adventure to raise boys. Also, as of right now, our twins will be the only boys in the generation to carry on the Schmerber name. Very exciting :)
The rest of the appointment went very well. All my vitals came back normal and this most recent series of genetic tests came back normal too.
4 days after that appointment, I was the wedding coordinator for a wedding at the Portland Art Museum. This was my first real experience with wedding coordination and WOW, major challenge but I loved it. The wedding went very smoothly and although there were some issues, all the vendors worked with me to come to reasonable, easy solutions and no one even noticed that there was a problem in the first place. 2 locations within the venue, 8 vendors, wedding party & 110 guests meant that I was on my feet for 13 hours straight. It was a struggle physically, but I made it through with the help of an amazing friend, Karen, who assisted me all day. I was wiped for the next couple days but I finally feel like I have my energy back (ie. the house is clean again) ;)
New appointment is tomorrow morning and it is just another routine appointment. Here's to more health, happiness & love in all our lives!
Love,
Whitney
